“I am Josef Debrossé.” He had yet to release Paul’s hand—not that he had any complaints— and his blood warmed from touching a total stranger he’d paid to meet.
He let out a breathless chuckle, not surprised he’d been holding his breath.
“Paul Strait,” he replied, caught up in something...giddiness? Excitement? Sexual tension? He wasn’t sure, but he felt like a silly girl swooning on her first date. Almost as an afterthought, he added his signature tagline, “And I’m anything but.”
A rich resonant laughter danced around them, weaving a spell and capturing Paul inside it until he didn’t even know which way was up or down.
“C’est bon, Paul Strait,” he said, those hypnotic eyes sparkling.
When Josef released him, he had to resist the urge to take the man’s hand back and never let go, fearing he might disappear. Instead, he downed the rest of his champagne, scolding himself for being so ridiculous. He nodded toward the bar where plenty of stools sat open. “Can I buy you a drink?”
At the resort, everything was included, but it seemed like the most logical thing to say. Much classier than, “Are you wearing underwear?”

- Tell us something about your character’s friends.
Well, I can do more than just tell you about Paul’s friends, you can read all about them in my writing friend Wendy Burke’s book WISE MEN SAY. Wendy and I steal characters from each other, and Paul made his debut in that book. Paul helped the heroine of that story, Emmy, reunite with her missing military man. Emmy is Paul’s best friend and he jokingly calls her his “wife.”
- What is your character’s favorite meal? Favorite dessert? Favorite snack food?
Josef is very Zen with his approach to food—that’s what happens when you have a private beach to do yoga on every day LOL. While he enjoys the decadence of life, he wants his food clean and pure, no preservatives.
- What activity does your character absolutely hate?
Paul despises exercise of any kind! Sweating is for sex!
- What other author’s book do you think your character would be good in?
Well, Wendy Burke has partial ownership on Paul, so naturally he should show up in her books. And coming this spring, both Josef and Paul will have a role in her upcoming 1NightStand story Safe At Home
- What’s your favorite decade and why?
This one. I love my life today, and while the past has its perks, nostalgia is just that—nostalgia. You can’t go back and each of us should learn to love the day they are given every morning. ☺

Paul is tired of being alone. At 48 years old he's ready to settle down and find someone special he can share his success with. Someone who won't take him for granted or just want him for his money or what Paul can provide for him. In a last attempt, he decides to hire Madame Eve's services to find him his perfect fantasy man.
When he meets Josef, he seems to be just what Paul desires, however, are they ready to make the transition from fantasy into reality?
I really liked this book! Paul was witty and fun, and yes, he was also arrogant and conceited and he makes no apologies for that. Josef was a bit more down-to-earth, and they hit it off great from the start. The build-up to the sex was nice and steady, and the actual sex was steamy without going overboard.
The book is well-written, with some light angst and a few twists here and there, and while it's not much more than sex and the promise of a HFN that might turn into a HEA, it was still very enjoyable. This is my first book by this author, but it definitely won't be the last!
