Joel is the single father of an adorable three-year-old, Evie. His best friend from University is Evie's mother and they have managed to work things out to remain friends and be the best parents they can be for Evie. And to complete Joel's little circle we have Dan, his boyfriend, who is younger than Joel and while not quite ready for an exclusive relationship, he is there for Joel when he needs him.
It all changes after an accident, which leave Joel as a full-time father, and suddenly he needs stability and decides to end things with Dan.
When he meets Liam, Joel can't stop feeling wary. Liam is too good to be true, and he's looking for something serious and while the attraction between the two is undeniable, Joel is not sure he's ready for what Liam is looking for, or is he?
I really loved Liam, he was such a fantastic, reliable, honest, supportive character. Perhaps he came on a bit too strong, but he was sure of what he wanted and just went for it. I wanted to slap Joel more than a few times, though. I found him insecure and immature. He was a great father, but really, in other areas of his life, he was a bit of a mess. Thankfully, he did a bit of growth in the last part of the book and that made things a whole better.
The book is very good, well-written and engaging. Evie was adorable and I loved Joel's sister, Miranda. The chemistry between Joel and Liam was amazing and I loved them together, even if I was a little fed up with Joel's attitude in some parts of the book. But other than that, it's a great, heart-tugging read!

She comes from a family of writers, but she always used to believe that the gene for fiction writing had passed her by. She spent years only ever writing emails, articles, or website content. One day, she decided to try and write a short story–just to see if she could–and found it rather addictive. She hasn’t stopped writing since.
