Description:

Not all cowboys ride horses.Jeremy Craig is on the cusp of being named the deputy prime minister of Australia.Which means he’s got to play his cards right and stay deep in the closet. Australia is a lot of things, but there’s no way the country is ready for a gay prime minister. So far, it’s been an easy ruse to maintain. Until he meets Ryan Taylor. Then all bets are off. Ryan is sick of the Brokeback Mountain jokes. For starters, he’s an Australian stockman, not an American cowboy. For another, he spends most of his working days alone in a helicopter, not on the back of a horse. As Wallaby Ridge’s only contract heli-musterer, he gets to escape any small-town scorn high in the sky. He’s happy up there. Lonely, but happy. Who needs passion and wild sexual pleasure in their life when they have the boundless skies of the Outback, right? Then Jeremy Craig climbs into his chopper…Warning: This book may change your opinion of politicians. It also contains scorching, no-holds-barred passion between two alpha men, one with a Ryan Gosling fetish and the other with a secret deeper than the ocean. Yes, it’s that complicated.

Mari's Review:

*** ARC provided by Samhain Publishing via NetGalley. ***

I was promised my opinions of politicians might change after reading this book, and well, at least my opinion of one fictional politician did.

Jeremy and Ryan are each other's dream man, embodying all they've ever wanted on their other half, but even if they are attracted to each other, with Jeremy having to remain firmly ensconced in the closet due to his political ambitions, things aren't looking all that great on the long run for their relationship.

Jeremy is an up and coming politician, honest and hardworking, and set to become the next Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, but for that he needs to hide who he is, because Australia is not ready for a gay Prime Minister, or is it?

Ryan works as a chopper pilot in Australia's outback. He's fun, out and proud and has an awesome group of friends there in Wallaby Ridge, even if he's been feeling lonely. The last thing he expected was to meet the man of his dreams or that, even if the attraction was returned, there wouldn't be that much future to anything more serious between the two. I loved both Jeremy and Ryan, they were both awesome, well-rounded characters and their chemistry was amazing! It was lovely to see them flirt with each other and being incapable of keeping away no matter how hard they both tried to, knowing their tryst had an expiration date.

I adored Ryan's friends and being privy of the life in Wallaby Ridge as well, as it gave the story more depth. I didn't really expect the ending to play out like it did, and while I would've loved an epilogue of sorts or something that left me with more of a closure, I was pretty happy with what I got.

The story is sweet, entertaining, sexy and delightful, with a bit of angst thrown in for good measure, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of these characters again in the future, perhaps in another book in this series. (hint hint nudge nudge)
